Attention all architecture students!

 

We are excited to announce our upcoming sketching competition. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity on themes of Futuristic Architecture.

Participants will have the chance to win cash prizes and be recognized for their talents by industry professionals. The competition is open to all architecture students from Ethiopian Universities with a passion for drawing and design.

Theme: Futuristic Architecture

 

About the Theme: The theme involves designing buildings and structures that embody the characteristics of science-fiction or a futuristic world. Think sleek, bold, and innovative designs that push the boundaries of traditional architectural practices.

To start sketching for this theme, begin by envisioning a world where technology has advanced beyond our current realities and imagine how buildings and structures could adapt to this evolution. Consider incorporating cutting-edge materials and techniques that allow for more environmentally sustainable structures, immersive experiences, and unique designs.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

  • Entries will be accepted from 2nd July 2023.

  • All the eligible entries will be published online within 24 - 48 hrs after submission on our website page https://www.archpedia.net/archive/tags/sketching-competition-2023.

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rank holders will receive prize money of 1000 Birr, 600 Birr, and 400 Birr respectively.

  • All the participants will get an E-Certificate of Participation.

  • The competition will be closed at 11:50 pm IST, 23 July 2023.

  • The sheet/page size should be A4 only. Download a template file here.

  • Scan your A4 sheet properly. Accepted formats are jpeg and png. Only high-resolution images.

  • Give a TITLE to your sketch. You can also add a DESCRIPTION (not more than 150 words) to explain the concept of your sketch.

  • Email it to archpedia4u@gmail.com

  • Sample of the subject of the email - NAME OF THE CONTESTANT_YEAR OF STUDY_SCE23.

  • The email should contain a sketch file, title, description (optional), and photo (mugshot/face) of the contestant.

  • Results will be announced on our website within 7 days following the closing date of the competition.

  • Only students from Ethiopian universities are eligible to participate in this competition.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

 

Evaluation will be done on the basis of Likes (Hearts) and Star Ratings received by the contestant.

            1 Like = 1 Point

​

For RATING, the following method will be used for the calculation of the points-

            If the overall rating is less than 2 out of 5 then, 1 Star = 0.5 Point

            If the overall rating is between 2.1 to 4 out of 5 then, 1 Star = 1 Point

            If the overall rating is more than 4.1 out of 5 then, 1 Star = 1.5 Points

A minimum of 10 numbers of ratings should have been there to be eligible to get points from your ratings.

A minimum of 150 points is required to be eligible for final evaluation.

​

Suppose, a contestant receives 28 Likes and 4.2 overall rating out of 5 from 20 people.

            28 Like = 28 Points

            20 x 4.2 = 84 stars x 1.5 = 126

            Total Points = 154

OUR POLICY

​

  • Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the prize winner but if the winner fails to respond to our notification attempts within this time or fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with the competition terms and conditions, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.

  • The results of a competition will be announced on our website within 7 days following the closing date of the competition. The announcement may include the name and photograph, the university name, and the prize details of each prize winner.

  • The prizes are not transferable.

  • You warrant to us that you created your competition entries, that you own all of the copyright in those entries, and that our use of the entries in accordance with these rules will not infringe any person's intellectual property rights or other legal rights.

  • You grant to us an exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to copy, store, edit, distribute, transmit, and publish your competition entries.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocably and unconditionally waive your rights to be identified as the author of your competition entries and to object to any derogatory treatment of your competition entries.

  • We may undertake publicity activities relating to competitions and prize awards. The winner, therefore, agrees to the use of their name, photograph, and disclosure of university name in any post-prize-winning publicity campaign.

  • All other personal details collected as part of the competition will be used in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
